Murshad: A Display Font That Elevates Campaign Typography

Designing a Product Launch? Murshad Adds Instant Visual Appeal

I was finalizing a product launch graphic for a client’s new line of artisan candles when I stumbled upon Murshad. The brief called for a clean, elegant aesthetic with a touch of personality—something that would stand out in a crowded Instagram feed but still feel sophisticated. I needed a display font that could work as both a headline and a visual anchor. Murshad fit the bill perfectly.

Murshad is a modern display font with a refined yet expressive personality. Its letterforms are clean and structured, with subtle decorative touches that give it a unique charm. It’s not overly ornate, but it carries enough character to make a statement. Whether you're designing a digital ad or a print layout, this font brings a sense of editorial polish and creative flair.

How Murshad Performs Across Campaign Assets

I used Murshad across several campaign assets: a YouTube thumbnail, a set of Instagram Stories, a Pinterest pin, and a landing page header. In each case, the font held up well, especially when used at larger sizes. On the YouTube thumbnail, where attention spans are measured in seconds, Murshad helped the headline pop against a soft background image. The font’s high contrast and open spacing made the text instantly readable, even in a fast-scrolling feed.

For the Instagram Stories, I overlaid Murshad on a video preview with a light gradient background. The font’s elegant serifs and slightly condensed structure gave the text a luxury feel without crowding the visual space. It worked especially well for short, impactful phrases like “Limited Edition” or “New Arrival.”

Where Murshad Shines—and Where It Doesn’t

Murshad is best suited for display use. Think headlines, titles, quotes, and short promotional text. It works beautifully in social media graphics, digital ads, and editorial headers. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for long-form copy or small body text. The font’s stylistic details, while visually appealing, can make it less legible at smaller sizes—especially on mobile screens.

For example, I tried using Murshad in a promotional email’s body text to maintain brand consistency, but it quickly became clear that the font wasn’t ideal for that context. The letterforms felt too delicate, and the tracking wasn’t tight enough for optimal readability. Instead, I switched to a clean sans serif for the body and reserved Murshad for the header—where it truly excelled.

Pairing Murshad With Supporting Typography

One of the most effective ways to use Murshad is by pairing it with a more neutral typeface. I often combine it with a minimalist sans serif like Montserrat or Lato for subheadings and body copy. This creates a strong visual hierarchy: Murshad commands attention as the headline, while the supporting font ensures clarity and legibility.

If the campaign calls for a more traditional or elegant tone, pairing Murshad with a serif font like Playfair Display can create a cohesive, editorial-style layout. For a more casual or modern feel, a script or handwritten font like Pacifico or Great Vibes can add contrast and warmth.

Practical Tips for Using Murshad in Real Campaigns

Before finalizing your design, always check how Murshad renders on different screens and in various contexts. I found that on dark backgrounds, the font’s fine details can get lost, especially in thumbnail-sized previews. To combat this, I increased the font weight and added a subtle drop shadow to ensure legibility.

When using Murshad in digital ads or social media posts, consider the platform’s native text rendering. Instagram and Facebook sometimes compress text overlays, which can soften the font’s crisp edges. To maintain sharpness, I exported the text as a PNG overlay and imported it into the design rather than typing directly into the platform’s editor.

Also, make sure to review the font’s available styles, ligatures, and alternate characters. Murshad includes several stylistic sets and ligatures that can enhance the font’s decorative appeal when used creatively. I used one of the alternate “S” characters in a logo-style treatment for a seasonal campaign, and it gave the design a more bespoke feel.

Final Word: A Smart Choice for Campaign Designers

If you're a marketer, social media strategist, or campaign designer looking for a display font that balances elegance with readability, Murshad is a solid choice. It brings a premium, editorial quality to visuals without feeling out of place in modern digital formats. Whether you're designing a webinar banner, an Instagram post, or a Pinterest campaign, Murshad helps your message stand out with style.

Just remember to use it strategically—save it for short, impactful text, pair it wisely with supporting fonts, and test it across devices and platforms. When used correctly, Murshad can become a valuable part of your design toolkit, helping you build visuals that resonate with your audience and elevate your brand’s creative presence.
